About Kane County Assistance Program (KCAP)

KCAP was created in February, 2016 and was developed out of the PATH (Program for the Transient and Homeless) which has existed for over 10 years helping transients needing immediate assistance. It developed into the KCAP programs desire to help a broader group of locals with emergencies assistance including food, prescriptions, utilities, gas, repairs, etc. and other unexpected needs. All donations for this all volunteer program go directly to local people in need with no administration costs removed.

KCAP has helped over 200 families and individuals in the greater Kane County area over the past 4 years.

“The churches have been generous to help people out and we didn’t have a program to help residents who had financial difficulties. We wanted the program to be non-denominational, and we help connect to government programs as well as help some people who are not eligible for the government aid. We are happy we can be there for people in their time of need.” – Sandy Kerr, Co-founder and committee member

“We are so grateful that we saw a need and for the people who have stepped up to fulfill that need, and ultimately to see fruit from those efforts. We are looking forward to this growing into something to provide more help in the County/community because the needs are great. We have a great vision for what this can do for the community.” – Will Leonard, Co-founder and Board Member
